Why I'm starting a substack

I’m so excited to start this. When I first started Truly, I felt a little lost in terms of having resources or inspiration for when it came to starting a business by myself, knowing literally NOTHING about starting a business hahahaha. I would have LOVED to have something like this from a fellow business owner who’s been in the game for a few years. I also really love to share things authentically and have wanted a platform that I felt I was able to do that for awhile now. A place to just share the behind the scenes and authentic processes of owning a business. I have really gone back and forth with using my personal instagram for that but it’s just never felt right and I’m not sure every single follower wants to be inundated with business stuff?

I also went back and forth because I know the information I want to provide/do provide is valuable and I didn’t want to cram it into a 60 second story, for it to disappear in 24 hours! So this is it. SUBSTACK!

I’ve recently started using substack to follow founders and business professionals and my favourite brands that I look up to and I REALLY enjoy taking some time out of my day to sit and read their articles. I love knowing what’s going on behind the scenes, learning from them and feeling connected more than I would just following their instagrams or tiktoks! Hearing from the founders themselves rather than curated content.

I want this place to be a community for those who are interested in that too! I’ll be sharing the ins and outs of owning a business, behind the scenes of Truly, providing advice and learnings from the last 5+ years of business and also some more personal things. If you ever want me to write about anything specific, I’ll be posting a substack question box each week on my instagram stories and you can ask me questions or request topics that I will write about!!
